04/26/2026, 09:30A regular quarterly working meeting was held in Bishkek, attended by representatives of the relevant government agencies responsible for the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues related to ensuring the stable and coordinated operation of the region’s hydropower systems during the upcoming 2026–2027 flood season. In this regard, the parties paid special attention to strengthening joint efforts.
During the meeting, participants noted the close interdependence of the region’s energy systems and expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation based on mutual trust.
It was particularly emphasized that the three countries—Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan—expressed their readiness for coordinated actions aimed at preventing a drop in water levels in the Toktogul Reservoir, which is one of the key factors in ensuring regional energy stability.
The meeting also reviewed the successful completion of the fall-winter period and discussed specific measures to balance energy loads and ensure the uninterrupted operation of power systems.
