12/20/2024, 07:46A meeting aimed at deepening cooperation between postal organizations of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey was held in Ankara on December 16.
The event was attended by Chyngyz Toktobekov, Kyrgyz Trade Representative in Turkey, Marat Cherikchiev, Director General of Kyrgyz Pochtasy OJSC, Ulan Nogaev, Chairman of the Board of Eldik Bank OJSC, and Hakan Gulten, Director General of Turkish postal company PTT.
One of the key topics of discussion was the proposal to open a branch of Kyrgyz Pochtasy in Turkey. According to Chyngyz Toktobekov, such a step will not only improve access of the Kyrgyz diaspora to postal and logistics services, but will also become an important tool to stimulate trade and exchange between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed reducing the cost of postal services for citizens of the two countries and agreed on plans to implement agreements already signed.
PTT Director General Hakan Gulten expressed the Turkish side's readiness to support initiatives aimed at expanding the partnership, noting the strategic importance of postal and logistics services for the development of bilateral economic relations.
