07/17/2025, 13:01The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic held a reporting meeting of the Department of Fisheries on the results of the first half of 2025. Over the six months, the country produced over 5,645 tons of commercial fish, with exports totaling 188.5 tons. A forecast for artificial fish reproduction was also approved, and permits were issued for scientific and fish stocking activities.
International cooperation projects are being implemented with the participation of the Republic of Korea, FAO, and TIKA. In Uzghen, the construction of an incubation workshop with a capacity of up to 15 million fry per year has been completed. Particular attention is paid to trout farming and sustainable aquaculture development.
In addition, an electronic fishing ticket system has been introduced, with 2.88 million KGS worth of tickets sold in six months. Minister Bakyt Torobaev instructed to increase production and export volumes, develop the “Kyrgyz Trout” brand, and create a fund for water bodies for fishery use.
