03/09/2026, 15:15The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has imposed a temporary ban on the export of cattle, horses, sheep, and goats for a period of six months. The restriction applies to most animals raised in the country and comes into force on the day of the official publication of the decree.
At the same time, animals in transit, sport horses for participation in competitions, as well as horses and cattle donated to foreign states, international organizations, or private individuals may be exported from the country. The state operator Kyrgyz Agroholding is allowed to export live cattle, except for those raised in Kyrgyzstan, as well as horses by air.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce will notify the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will notify the CIS Executive Committee of the introduction of the ban. Control over the implementation of the decree is entrusted to the department for control over the implementation of decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers.
