Kyrgyzstan opens tourism season with a bid for regional leadership

Kyrgyzstan officially opened the summer tourist season on Issyk-Kul. The key event was the International Forum “Tourism 2030: Central Asia as a Unified Tourism Space”. The event was attended by representatives of the tourism industry, business and diplomatic corps.

Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, made a keynote speech at the opening of the forum. He emphasized the importance of regional integration and voiced Kyrgyzstan's desire to participate in the creation of a common tourism space in Central Asia.

“We see a powerful potential in uniting routes, standards and brands of the countries of the region,” he noted.

Key initiatives include forming cross-border tourist corridors, promoting a common Central Asian brand and developing common quality standards. According to Kasymaliyev, such measures will strengthen the region's position in the global tourism market and create new economic opportunities for the participating countries.
