Compared to the same period last year, the volume of imports in physical terms fell by nearly three times—from 2,025 to 756 animals. In monetary terms, imports fell by more than half.
Russia remained the main supplier of live horses to Kyrgyzstan. It accounted for 306 animals, or about 40% of total imports. However, shipments from Russia also declined sharply. Poland became the second-largest supplier. A total of 245 animals were imported from this country, amounting to 34.6 million KGS. At the same time, Polish imports, on the contrary, increased: a year ago, imports totaled 198 animals.
Latvia also accounted for a significant share—131 animals worth 11.7 million KGS. Compared to last year, imports from Latvia increased by nearly one and a half times.
Lithuania supplied 39 animals to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan—28, and Slovakia—3. Imports from the United States declined particularly sharply: from 39 animals a year ago to 4 this year.
Overall, imports of live horses and other animals in this category to Kyrgyzstan decreased by 62.7% in volume terms and by 51.9% in monetary terms.
