Kyrgyzstan aims to strengthen its transit potential through the development of transport and logistics

Growth in transport and freight storage services in Kyrgyzstan is forecast at 2.9 per cent in 2027. In 2028, the figure could reach 3.2 per cent, and in 2029 – 2.5 per cent.

According to the draft budget, the main areas of development will be transport and logistics infrastructure, civil aviation and transport corridors.

The authorities also plan to modernise aviation and border infrastructure and simplify border crossing procedures.

Particular attention will be paid to improving aviation security and developing infrastructure related to international transport.

The Ministry of Finance expects that these measures will increase Kyrgyzstan’s transit potential and improve conditions for the movement of goods through the country.

Transport development should also support foreign trade. The draft budget forecasts an increase in foreign trade turnover from $18 billion 44.8 million in 2027 to $21 billion 26 million in 2029.
