07/06/2026, 09:41Sadyr Zhaparov signed a law ratifying the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the Republic of Ghana on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
The document was signed on March 16 in Bishkek and approved by the Jogorku Kenesh on June 10. The head of state signed the ratification law on July 2.
The agreement stipulates that citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Ghana holding diplomatic or service passports will be able to enter, exit, transit through, and stay in the territory of the other country without obtaining visas, in accordance with the procedures established by the agreement.
Once the law enters into force, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan must notify Ghana that the domestic procedures have been completed. The agreement will take effect only after the exchange of the relevant notifications.
The new visa-free regime applies exclusively to holders of diplomatic and service passports and does not affect the entry procedures for citizens traveling on ordinary civilian passports.
