A man accused of fraud amounting to 15 million KGS has been extradited from the US to Kyrgyzstan

A citizen who was the subject of an international arrest warrant on charges of a series of frauds has been brought to Kyrgyzstan. According to the investigation, the losses resulting from his actions exceeded 15 million KGS. This was reported by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A Kyrgyz citizen, A.A., was brought back from the US thanks to cooperation between the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic and the relevant US authorities. Upon arrival, he was placed in a remand centre.

According to the investigation, the accused abused the trust of citizens and unlawfully appropriated their property. The total amount of financial damage caused, according to the investigation, exceeds 15 million KGS.

The General Prosecutor’s Office noted that it is continuing its efforts to repatriate individuals who are evading investigation and trial abroad, and to ensure they are brought to justice.

A criminal case had previously been opened against A.A. on charges of fraud, following which he was placed on an international wanted list.
