Kyrgyzstan to Strengthen Economic Resilience Against Climate Risks

In Kyrgyzstan, part of the new $50 million Green Investment and Resilient Economic Growth Program will be allocated to enhancing the economy’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.

This involves improving mechanisms for financing natural disaster risks, implementing standards for climate-resilient infrastructure, and developing insurance schemes.

The program also includes measures to transition to a green economy and develop sustainable financing.

Authorities expect that the new mechanisms will help reduce economic losses from natural disasters and increase the resilience of infrastructure projects in the face of climate change.
