The laboratory tests more than 70 different compounds, which helps expand Kyrgyzstan's export potential and facilitates the export of livestock products abroad.
In addition, the department's specialists determine the presence of toxic heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and arsenic, as well as dangerous organochlorine pesticides. The laboratory also identifies the type of meat in raw materials, determining which animal it comes from, including sheep, cattle, chickens, pigs, horses, dogs, and even cats.
A total of 12 accredited veterinary laboratories that comply with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 are successfully operating in Kyrgyzstan. These laboratories are located in Bishkek (3), Osh (3), and one each in Talas, Naryn, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Balykchy, and Karakol. They play a key role in ensuring food safety, epidemiological control, and biosafety.
