Kyrgyzstan has ratified agreements with the ADB for emergency financing

The President has signed a law ratifying three documents with the Asian Development Bank concerning financing and risk management in emergencies and natural disasters.

The agreements provide for the establishment of rapid financing mechanisms in the event of emergencies, as well as the issuance of special bonds that can be used to cover costs during major disasters. A separate letter sets out the procedure for cooperation and risk sharing between Kyrgyzstan and the ADB.

The documents were signed in Bishkek on 30 December 2025. The Jogorku Kenesh approved ratification on 9 April 2026, after which the President signed the law on 15 April. It will come into force ten days after its official publication.

The Ministry of Finance must notify the ADB of the completion of all internal procedures.
