In January–February 2026, coal exports from Kyrgyzstan rose to 214,600 tonnes, compared with 190,500 tonnes a year earlier. In value terms, the volume increased from $8.8 million to $10.38 million, representing a 17.5% rise.
The main destinations were Uzbekistan, which received 93% of the total volume, and China, where an increase in purchases was recorded. This year, supplies to Kazakhstan ceased and supplies to Lithuania began.
In the previous year, coal exports also showed steady growth, but the growth rate was lower. The main demand traditionally comes from Central Asian countries, where coal is used in the energy sector and industry.
