Kyrgyzstan has increased its flour imports by almost 50%

In the first two months of 2026, Kyrgyzstan increased its imports of wheat flour by almost 50% in volume, whilst the total value of purchases fell.

Between January and February, 15,400 tonnes of wheat flour worth $6.3 million were imported into the country. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports rose by 49.1%, whilst the value fell by 20.4%.

Kazakhstan remains the main supplier. Imports from this country rose by 56.6% to 15,000 tonnes. At the same time, the value of supplies fell by 19.8% to $6.15 million.

Imports from Russia, by contrast, fell. The volume of imports fell by 58.4% to 335 tonnes, whilst the value fell by 35.6% to $192,000.
