For the first time, Kyrgyzstan has publicly presented investors with opportunities to participate in the CKU railway project

For the first time on an international stage, Kyrgyzstan publicly presented opportunities for cooperation with investors, financial institutions, and businesses as part of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan (CCU) railway project.

The presentation took place at the 8th International Exhibition “Supply Chains and Port Logistics 2026” in Chengdu, where Roman Spassky, First Deputy General Director of the State Enterprise “National Company ‘Kyrgyz Temir Zholu’” Roman Spassky presented the project not only as a transport corridor but also as a potential platform for partnerships and capital attraction.

This marked one of the first instances in which the Kyrgyz side openly highlighted to an international audience not only the political or infrastructural significance of the CCU but specifically the investment component of the project.

During the presentation, opportunities for investors and financial institutions to participate in the implementation of railway and related projects were outlined—ranging from the development of logistics infrastructure to the creation of hubs and the expansion of multimodal transport.

In effect, this is a signal to the market that Kyrgyzstan is beginning to promote the KKU not only as an intergovernmental initiative but also as a project open to capital and commercial participation.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, meetings were also held with international transport and logistics companies, as well as investment entities, where issues related to attracting investment, partnerships in the railway sector, and the development of transit infrastructure were discussed.

For the project, this may signal an attempt to expand the circle of participants beyond state funding sources.

The exhibition in Chengdu brought together representatives from more than 50 countries, including port operators, railway administrations, carriers, and logistics companies. This made the CCT’s presentation part of a broader discussion on new Eurasian routes.
