According to data from microcredit organisations, the total value of loans issued over the three-month period exceeded 23 billion KGS.
Agriculture came second in terms of lending volume, with over 16% of microloans directed towards the development of the agricultural sector. A further 9% was allocated to the retail and catering sectors.
This breakdown shows that microloans in Kyrgyzstan are still used primarily to cover the population’s day-to-day expenses, rather than for starting or expanding a business.
At the same time, the agricultural sector remains one of the key areas of microfinance, particularly in regions where small loans often serve as a source of working capital for farmers and agricultural enterprises.
