As of June 1, 2025, 331 thousand 497 houses and apartments have already been insured. This is 2.4 times more than a year ago. Then there were only 139 thousand such contracts. Now insurance covers 26.5% of the entire housing stock of the country.
The leaders in the number of insured houses are Jalal-Abad and Osh oblasts. More than one third of all dwellings are covered there. Talas and Naryn oblasts also showed good results. But in Bishkek, only 16.7% of dwellings have been insured so far.
In 2024, the State Insurance Organization (SIO) paid almost 70 million soms to the victims. And for the first six months of 2025 - almost 30 million soms. All payments have been made on time and in full. This confirms that the insurance works and helps people in difficult situations.
The state insurance organization was established in 2016. Its founder is the state. It is engaged in compulsory home insurance throughout the country. At the beginning of 2025, its authorized capital amounted to 1 billion 144 million soms.
Such insurance helps to protect housing from the consequences of fires, earthquakes and other disasters. If something happens, owners of insured housing receive compensation. This helps to recover faster and not to be left without assistance.
