The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and GRK Solar Energy LLC will cooperate in the development of solar power plants

Today, July 30, 2025, the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, met with the CEO of GRK Solar Energy, Asanbek Turoev.

During the meeting, the minister familiarized himself with the solar power plant installed outside and on the roof of the GRK Solar Energy office located in Bishkek, on 7 April Street.
The building on which the solar power plant is installed was previously an old workshop and was in disrepair. The company bought the building, renovated it, and installed a solar power plant with a total capacity of 1 MW on the facade and roof.

Previously, GRK Solar Energy LLC obtained a license from the Department for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex under the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, technical specifications from JSC National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan, and signed a contract for the sale of the electricity generated. Today, the company demonstrated its activities and commissioned the solar power plant. As a result, OJSC “NESK” will begin purchasing electricity generated by the solar power plant under the previously signed agreement.

The company's further goal is to build a solar panel manufacturing plant on the site of an old workshop in cooperation with the Chinese company and to develop solar power plants in Kyrgyzstan.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the development of renewable energy sources and the joint implementation of projects aimed at eliminating the country's energy deficit. According to the CEO of GRK Solar Energy, there are also plans to build solar power plants at the Toktogul Reservoir, in Tash-Kumyr, and other areas.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on the development of renewable energy sources was signed between the Ministry of Energy and GRK Solar Energy LLC.
