Kyrgyz citizens are taking out fewer loans for trade

Commercial bank lending in the Kyrgyz Republic grew by 35.8% in January-November 2025, according to analysts at the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

In the sectoral structure of lending, the share of loans issued for trade decreased to 26% of the total volume of loans (35% in January-November 2024). However, the share of consumer lending increased by 11.2 percentage points over the year and amounted to 45.9% of the total portfolio.

As a result, 76% of the lending dynamics can be explained by the growth in new consumer loans. This will continue to support domestic demand at the beginning of the year and contribute to the expansion of economic activity.
