    Kyrgyzstanis are selling less gold

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan purchased 6.08 tons of gold on the domestic market in 2024, almost three times less than a year earlier (20.72 tons). This is stated in the regulator's official report.

At the same time, the volume of gold assets of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic increased and amounted to 52.34 tons at the end of the year, which is 4.3 tons more than in 2023.

It should be noted that, according to the law, the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Bank have the right to purchase all gold mined in the country on a priority basis. Purchases are made to replenish gold and foreign exchange reserves and protect financial stability.
