03/12/2026, 14:11Today, March 12, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev announced that negotiations are underway to introduce a visa-free regime between Kyrgyzstan and China.
During the session, MP Zhumabek Salymbekov noted that Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Russia have already reached agreements with China on a visa-free regime and asked when a similar agreement would be reached by Kyrgyzstan.
According to Imangaziev, Kyrgyzstan is currently also negotiating with the Chinese side on the introduction of a visa-free regime.
He clarified that the Chinese side has put forward a condition that Kyrgyzstan must be the first to introduce a visa-free regime. However, the Kyrgyz side maintains that such a regime should be introduced simultaneously by both countries.
“That is why the negotiations are dragging on,” he noted.
