Commission to review plans for a plant capable of processing 3,000 tonnes of waste per day

An interdepartmental commission will review the expenditure and revenue of the second phase of the waste treatment plant project in Bishkek.

Experts will examine the volume of waste processed, electricity generation and the justification for constructing a plant with a capacity of up to 3,000 tonnes of waste per day.

The commission began its work following a site visit to the facility. Participants inspected the Bishkek municipal landfill and familiarised themselves with the plant’s operations. Experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision also took part in the audit.

The commission will assess the operations of the existing facility and the financial indicators of the second phase of the project. The project’s compliance with Kyrgyzstan’s environmental requirements will also be verified.

This work is being carried out in accordance with the instructions of a meeting chaired by the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on 10 September 2026.
