04/01/2026, 15:46Kyrgyzstan has discussed the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project with representatives of an American consultancy firm. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan.
Overall, the meeting between Talantbek Soltobaev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Andrei Lukyanov, a representative of the Boston Consulting Group, focused on the potential of the country’s railway infrastructure.
It should be noted that the Boston Consulting Group is an American consulting firm specialising in strategic management and business analytics. According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the company has been involved in the implementation of a number of strategic projects in Kyrgyzstan over the past two years. The cooperation, in particular, relates to attracting international investors and developing major infrastructure initiatives.
The Ministry of Transport did not disclose the details of the discussions regarding the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway. However, given the nature of the Boston Consulting Group’s work, it can be assumed that the discussions may have centred on issues of financing and attracting foreign investment into the project.
