Almost 226 million KGS to be allocated for automated irrigation in the Issyk-Kul region

The Issyk-Kul district is set to begin implementing an automated closed-loop system for the supply and metering of irrigation water. This is stated on the Public Procurement website.

Earlier, the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers announced plans to introduce a drip irrigation system in the vicinity of Lake Issyk-Kul. This project aims to ensure the efficient use of the region’s water resources.

Two lots have been allocated for the procurement of equipment and installation works. The first involves the purchase and installation of materials for the automated irrigation system, worth 195.97 million KGS. The second covers the installation and commissioning of the system across an area of 363.5 hectares, at a cost of 29.72 million KGS. The work will be carried out in the village of Sary-Kamysh in the Issyk-Kul district. The total cost of the project is almost 225.7 million KGS.

Under the terms of the contract, the contractor must not only supply and install the equipment, but also train staff and ensure the system is fully operational. The deadline for completion of works under the first lot is 40 working days, and 65 working days for the second lot.
