05/06/2026, 18:00In 2025, Kyrgyzstan received $981.3 million in external financing through 55 transactions, according to data from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development.
The main donors were the World Bank ($385.4 million), the Asian Development Bank ($255.6 million) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ($112.7 million). Funding was also provided by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank ($100 million), the Islamic Development Bank ($50 million) and JICA ($41.9 million).
The bulk of the funds went to investment projects — $799.7 million, with a further $164.7 million allocated to stabilisation funding and $16.9 million to technical assistance.
By sector, the largest investments were directed towards economic policy ($273.2 million), water supply ($201.4 million) and energy ($92.4 million).
Of this, 82.7% of the funding was provided in the form of loans, and 17.3% as grants.
