Who in Bishkek will receive a salary increase in 2026?

Deputies of the Bishkek City Council approved the capital's budget for 2026. Among other things, the document establishes a system of monthly bonuses for employees in education, social services, culture, and municipal services.

In other words, the allowances will primarily go to those without whom schools, social institutions, cultural centers, and the city hall itself would simply cease to function normally.

Moreover, in general education institutions, not only teachers will receive the allowance, but also those who are rarely mentioned in reports. For example, facility managers — those responsible for heating, lighting, repairs, and security — will receive up to 2,800 KGS per month, depending on the number of students.

Young music school teachers will receive 500 KGS, and pre-conscription training managers will receive 6,000 KGS.

The most significant additional payments — 7,000 KGS — are provided for social protection workers. These are employees of nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, institutions for people with disabilities, centers for victims of violence, and social hostels.

This category also includes social workers at city hall and staff at children's milk kitchens, from medical personnel to drivers.

Orchestra musicians, ensemble artists, librarians, museum workers, and employees of cultural centers and the city drama theater will receive bonuses of 5,000 KGS.

The list of recipients of bonuses also includes those whom city residents only remember during epidemics or accidents: employees of disinfection stations, warehouse workers, and technical staff of military registration and enlistment offices. Their bonuses range from 500 to 2,000 KGS.

A separate section of the budget is devoted to municipal employees. Employees of the central office of the mayor's office and district administrations will receive a bonus equal to 100% of their salary. Junior and technical staff will receive incentive payments of up to 200%.
