Kumtor has paid almost 8 billion KGS more in taxes into the budget than it did a year ago

Between January and June, the Kyrgyz budget received 15.7 billion KGS in gross income tax from ‘Kumtor’. This is according to the report on the implementation of the state budget.

Compared with the same period in 2025, revenue increased by 7.9 billion KGS, or by 101 per cent. A year earlier, Kumtor had paid 7.8 billion KGS under this heading.

The bulk of the payments came directly from gross income tax – 10.5 billion KGS. Over the year, this figure rose by 4.8 billion KGS, or 84.4 per cent (in the first half of 2025, it stood at 5.7 billion KGS).

A further 5.1 billion KGS was paid as an annual contribution towards the development of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral resources base. This is 2.4 times more than the previous year, when the amount stood at 2.1 billion KGS.
