Kundus Kyrbasheva completes her work at the Green Energy Fund

The Director of the Green Energy Fund of Kyrgyzstan, Kundus Kyrbasheva, is completing her tenure with the organisation and moving to a new position. Under her leadership, significant progress has been made in the renewable energy sector, in line with President Sadyr Zhaparov's green energy policy.

Since her appointment in July 2024, the Fund has concluded 42 agreements with investors and leased 3 thousand 964 hectares of land for RES projects. Among them, 31 plots for small hydropower plants with a capacity of 351.97 MW and 11 plots for solar power plants with a total capacity of 1 thousand 634.5 MW. For six months, lease revenues totalled 113 million KGS, a figure that was zero in 2023.

The Fund has also developed a draft Cabinet of Ministers decree on the ‘Financial Guarantee’, which aims to provide a guaranteed buyout of electricity generated by RES facilities. This document, prepared with the support of the Presidential Administration, will create additional conditions for attracting investments in the sector.

At the moment, the Fund has 82 plots with a total area of more than 19 thousand hectares, of which 15 thousand hectares are ready to be transferred to investors.

Kundus Kyrbasheva expressed her gratitude for the support, noting the importance of the President's political will and systemic reforms for the development of the RES sector. She will now continue her work in a new format, applying her experience to further promote green projects in Kyrgyzstan.
