01/23/2026, 10:34The Kyrgyz KGS exchange rate against the Russian rouble on the Moscow Exchange between 23 December 2025 and 23 January 2026 showed marked volatility and declined overall.
According to trading data for the KGSRUB_TOM instrument, at the end of December, the exchange rate was in the range of 93.97–98.7 roubles per 100 KGS. The maximum value for the month was recorded on 25 December, when the closing price reached 98.7.
After the New Year holidays, the exchange rate began to decline. On 6 January, it fell to 90, and on 8–9 January, it briefly recovered to 92.8–93. However, the market failed to consolidate at these levels.
The most sharp fluctuations were recorded on 16 January, when the rate varied from 84 to 93.8 during the day. At the end of trading, it closed at 88.9.
By 22 January, the rate had fallen to 88.2. Thus, since 23 December, the decline has been about 5.8%.
