Kuvanychbek Kongantiev proposed to increase and allocate separate funding for new territories of Bishkek

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kuvanychbek Kongantiev, a member of the 8th convocation and member of the Ata-Jurt parliamentary group, raised the issue of additional funding for the territories newly annexed to Bishkek.

Addressing the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliyev, he stated that the city's current budgetary resources are insufficient to solve the accumulated problems in the new territories.

"We are talking about the construction of schools and kindergartens, roads, lighting, engineering networks, and communications. Social tensions in these areas are growing, as residents' expectations from joining the capital turned out to be significantly higher than the actual changes," Kongantiev said, stressing that the city's existing budget is not enough to solve all the problems.

In this regard, the deputy proposed increasing the city's budget and creating a separate department within the mayor's office that would deal exclusively with the new territories. According to the parliamentarian, the city already has experience in this area.

“In the past, the Public State Administration of Capital Construction (OGUK) received funds directly from the republican budget, which made it possible to solve the main problems of residential areas within six years,” Kuvanychbek Kongantiev recalled.
