07/04/2025, 12:06Kyrgyzstan is preparing to introduce a system of authorised economic operators (AEOs), which will give a "green corridor" to verified companies. Such firms will be able to pass through customs faster, with minimal checks and paperwork, which will simplify exports and reduce costs for businesses. The Ministry of Economy is currently studying how this is implemented in other countries, including Turkey and Moldova.
At a recent meeting in Chisinau, representatives of Kyrgyzstan learned about real-life cases where AEOs are helping small and medium-sized businesses enter foreign markets without unnecessary bureaucracy. The Ready4Trade programme, within which the discussion is taking place, focuses specifically on supporting trading companies and developing the Trans-Caspian corridor.
For Kyrgyz exporters, this could mean fewer barriers and greater stability in international trade. The question is when and how quickly foreign experience can be adapted to local realities.
