Kyrgyzstan is preparing to return to European skies. The Kyrgyz aviation industry is experiencing an upswing

On Civil Aviation Day, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev announced that Kyrgyzstan is on the home stretch to being removed from the European Union's blacklist. Negotiations with the EU are already coming to an end, and soon European skies may open up for Kyrgyz airlines for the first time in many years.

According to Kasymaliyev, this will not only be a technical achievement, but a real symbol of the country's return to the global aviation community.

Domestic aviation is currently experiencing an upswing, with airports in Talas, Karakol, Naryn and Kazarmon now in operation, Manas undergoing modernisation, and the largest international airport in the country's history being built in the Jalal-Abad region. Asman Airlines has already added three Bombardier DASH 8 Q400s to its fleet to increase the number of domestic and interregional flights.

Against this backdrop, the industry is becoming a driver of economic growth and transport connectivity between regions.

‘Aviation is a symbol of the country's unity, convenience for citizens, openness to tourists and a symbol of the country's economic development,’ Kasymaliyev said, congratulating industry workers and veterans on their professional holiday.
