10/04/2026, 10:02In Doha, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Finance Ruslan Suynaliev met with the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Zhou Jia. The parties discussed expanding cooperation and attracting long-term financing for the country’s priority projects.
Following talks with AIIB Vice-President Konstantin Limitovsky, a framework agreement for 2026–2028 on the financing of priority projects was signed. The document provides for the phased mobilisation of the bank’s resources and the completion of the necessary procedures for the approval of funding.
The funds are planned to be channelled towards projects in the fields of infrastructure, energy, urban development, water resources, transport, housing construction and healthcare. The Kyrgyz side also proposed exploring additional instruments and mechanisms for cooperation with the bank.
In addition, the Minister of Finance proposed opening an AIIB representative office in Bishkek. According to both sides, this could accelerate the preparation and implementation of joint projects and expand investment cooperation.
The meeting also covered preparations for the Second Global Mining Summit ‘Bishkek+25’, which will take place on 21–23 October 2027. The President of the AIIB was invited to attend the event.
