The forum is considered the largest international platform in the field of official statistics, where issues related to the development of national statistical systems, the introduction of digital technologies, and the use of new data sources are discussed.
On the sidelines of the session, a memorandum of understanding was signed on March 4 between the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. The document provides for the development of cooperation in the exchange of statistical information, best practices, and professional experience.
The agreement pays particular attention to data exchange and the digitization of statistics. The parties agreed to cooperate in the implementation of electronic systems for the collection and processing of statistical information, which will improve the quality and timeliness of data.
Currently, the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan already uses software developed by the Serbian side — the IST automated information system designed for electronic collection of statistical data. It is expected that further cooperation will expand the use of digital solutions and strengthen the statistical capacity of both countries.
The signing of the memorandum was another step in the development of Kyrgyzstan's international partnership in the field of official statistics and data exchange.
