10/23/2025, 08:30Tourism is steadily establishing itself as one of the key sectors of the economy. This was stated by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev at a meeting of the National Council for Tourism Development.
According to him, in the first half of the year alone, the gross value added of tourism reached 30.18 billion KGS, and its share in GDP was 4.3%.
Exports of tourism services exceeded $529.5 million. This is almost twice as much as imports, which amounted to $283.9 million. Tax revenues from tourism amounted to 8.5 billion soms.
Kasymaliyev noted that infrastructure projects are being actively implemented in the country, contributing to further growth in tourist flows.
‘In particular, the Ala-Too Resort ski resort is under construction, as well as a large-scale modernisation of airports throughout the country,’ Kasymaliyev emphasised, adding the need to work on the issue of creating comfortable rest areas (rest points) for motorists.
The meeting also addressed six key issues, including the results of nine months of work in the industry. In addition to the achievements, the participants noted the existing problems. Adylbek Kasymaliyev instructed to strengthen measures to develop year-round destinations, in particular winter tourism, as well as to encourage small and family businesses, attract private investment and raise environmental awareness among tourists.
Particular attention was paid to the quality of service and staff training.
