The project will be the brand’s first property on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul and one of the largest international-standard hotel developments in the region.
According to the plans presented, the complex will comprise a five-star hotel with 120 rooms and 33 villas. The villas will also be managed by Marriott, allowing property owners to benefit from the hotel chain’s services.
As noted by Ivan Kiseev, Marriott’s Vice President for Development in the CIS and Turkey, the company views Kyrgyzstan as a promising direction for further development.
“Kyrgyzstan is, in principle, an important focus for us. We have been present here for quite some time. Why now? We follow the investors; we follow the money. And when the investor was ready, and our partner, RAMS, was ready for a regional project, we naturally confirmed our interest immediately and reached this commercial agreement with them,” said Ivan Kiseev.
According to him, the property will be the chain’s first regional project in Kyrgyzstan and could pave the way for further expansion of the international brand’s presence in the country.
“This will be the first time we open a hotel outside Bishkek. Our first regional project in Kyrgyzstan – I hope not the last,” he added.
The company notes that the project is aimed at both foreign tourists and the domestic market. The resort will be located on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul and will include hotel, leisure and service facilities.
