Local budgets collected 7.3 billion KGS more in revenue

Local budget revenues in January-July, including proceeds from the sale of non-financial assets, amounted to 42.5 billion KGS. According to the National Statistics Committee, this is 7.3 billion KGS more than a year ago at this time.

Almost half (49%) of the total revenue received by local budgets came from taxes. Over seven months, 20.8 billion KGS were collected. This is 2.8 billion KGS more than a year ago.

At the same time, 83.6% of all taxes, or 17.4 billion KGS, came from personal income tax on resident individuals. In second place in terms of collection was property tax, which brought 2.05 billion KGS (9.9%) to the treasury.

Local budgets also collected the following taxes:

  • property tax — 1 billion 55.9 million KGS (5.1%);
  • land tax — 997.4 million KGS (4.8%);
  • patent-based tax — 586.4 million KGS (2.8%).

Despite the fact that tax revenues are the main contributor to local budgets, non-tax revenues showed the maximum growth compared to last year. They increased by 8.7 billion or 2.9 times, reaching 13.2 billion KGS. A year ago, they did not exceed 4.5 billion KGS.

This was due to a 6.2-fold increase, from 1.5 billion KGS to 9.2 billion KGS, in voluntary transfers and grants to public sector organisations.

At the same time, local budgets received 4.2 billion KGS less in transfers. As a result, their total amount was 8.3 billion KGS. Of which more than 7 billion soms were targeted transfers.
