The Ministry of Energy reported on the implementation of the issues raised at the Third People's Kurultai

The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan presented information on the progress of addressing the appeals received from delegates of the Third People's Kurultai, held on December 20-21, 2024, with the participation of Sadyr Zhaparov.

A total of 59 appeals were received by the Ministry of Energy following the Kurultai. Most of the issues raised concerned practical problems with local energy supply. In particular, they concerned the construction of additional substations, increasing the capacity of transformer substations, replacing outdated wooden poles with reinforced concrete ones, gasification, the construction of small hydroelectric power plants, and connecting new residential areas to the power grid.

According to the ministry, eight of the appeals raised at the People's Kurultai have been fully implemented to date. In densely populated areas where power shortages were recorded, infrastructure was modernized, namely, the capacity of substations was increased, additional transformer points were installed, and worn-out wooden power line poles were replaced with reinforced concrete ones.

Work is continuing on 41 more requests. Their implementation requires more time due to the scale of the projects and the need for phased financing and design.

At the same time, 10 appeals were deemed unfeasible. They concern the construction of small hydroelectric power plants and gasification in certain areas, the construction of new substations or the installation of transformers in areas with already sufficient power, replacement of power lines and transmission towers that are in satisfactory condition, as well as electrification of sparsely populated or new residential areas that have not undergone the transformation procedure and do not have the necessary documentation.
