03/13/2026, 14:30During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev visited a number of medical institutions and gave instructions for their modernisation and construction.
In the city of Karakol, the head of the Cabinet inspected the regional general hospital and familiarised himself with the anti-plague department of the Centre for Control and Prevention of Especially Dangerous Infections and the Issyk-Kul Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination.
Particular attention was paid to the construction of a new hospital building with 350 beds. Work began in 2024, and the facility will consist of eight blocks. The project is expected to be completed in 2027. Adylbek Kasymaliyev instructed that apartments be allocated to young doctors and that the issue of staff housing be addressed.
During the visit, a project for an international medical cluster in Karakol was presented. The centre will have 510 beds and cost $150 million. It will become a regional centre for high-tech medicine and medical tourism, create about 750 new jobs, and include specialised oncology and cardiology centres and a training system for highly qualified specialists.
Following the trip, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant ministries to modernise and build healthcare facilities and to ensure comfortable working conditions for medical staff.
