03/13/2026, 14:50Kyrgyzstan's protected areas showed record financial results in 2025. Revenue from the tourism sector reached 37.7 million KGS, and the number of visitors exceeded 271,000 people.
At the end of 2025, Kyrgyzstan's state nature reserves and nature parks showed growth in financial and operational indicators. According to official data, tourism revenues amounted to 37.7 million KGS, which is more than double the previous year's figure — an increase of 19.3 million KGS.
Over the year, 271,254 people visited the country's natural areas. Interest in eco-tourism continues to grow — tourist traffic increased by almost 24%.
Domestic tourism continues to form the basis of visitor numbers, with more than 250,500 Kyrgyz citizens visiting. At the same time, interest from tourists from CIS countries and further afield remains strong.
Along with the development of ecotourism, control over compliance with environmental legislation is being strengthened. Over the year, 139 offences were identified, with total damages amounting to 1.1 million KGS. Most cases — about 70% — are related to encroachment on the plant world.
In 78 cases, damages have already been recovered to the budget, while the remaining cases are at the stage of judicial and administrative review.
