Two deposits in the Issyk-Kul Region have been put up for auction once again

The Kyrgyz Geological Service has announced a repeat auction for licences to develop two deposits in the Issyk-Kul Region. These are the Kurgaksay gypsum deposit and the ‘Central’ section of the Soguty deposit.

The auction for the Kurgaksay deposit in the Tyup District will take place on 23 July. The starting price for the licence is 3,985 KGS. The auction for the ‘Central’ section of the Soguta deposit in the Tonsky District will take place on 22 July, with a starting price of 55,1 KGS for the licence.

To take part in the auction, applicants must submit their documents by 16 July to the Kyrgyz Geological Service in Bishkek.

The repeat auction has been announced after the previous auction failed to result in the granting of licences for these sites. The authorities hope to attract investors to develop the gypsum, kaolin and quartz sandstone deposits.
