On August 20, investors will be offered 12-month government treasury bills worth 300 million KGS. The following day, August 21, an auction will be held to place two-year government treasury bonds totaling 400 million KGS.
However, results from previous auctions show that the offered amount is not always fully subscribed.
At the most recent auction for 12-month bills, held on August 13, demand totaled 211.5 million KGS with an offering of 300 million KGS. However, only 1.5 million KGS worth of securities were actually placed—0.5% of the planned volume. The weighted average yield was 10.6%.
The most recent auction of 2-year bonds took place on August 7. With a supply of 600 million KGS, demand and the actual placement volume reached 446.99 million KGS, or 74.5% of the announced amount. The weighted average yield on accepted bids was 13%, and the coupon rate was 5%.
Thus, at the upcoming auction, the Ministry of Finance will once again attempt to raise funds for both the short and medium term.
