09/15/2026, 10:27Ruslan Suynaliev, Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Naji Benhassine, the World Bank’s Regional Director for Central Asia. The parties discussed ongoing cooperation and the financing of major projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Particular attention was paid to the Kambarata HPP-1 project. Ruslan Suynaliev noted the World Bank’s support in advancing the project.
According to the minister, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth stood at 11.1 per cent for the first seven months of 2026. The state budget is being implemented with a surplus, whilst investment in infrastructure, social and energy projects is on the rise.
The parties also discussed budgetary support and additional funding under the MAR-21 programme, as well as the development of agriculture under the AgriConnect initiative.
Furthermore, the meeting participants reviewed the international assessments by the CPIA and Business Ready. The discussion centred on reforms in the areas of public administration, public finance management and improving the business environment.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on new major projects and to strengthen their partnership with a view to Kyrgyzstan’s sustainable development.
