Ministry of Finance repays 400 million KGS debt on 7-year bonds

The Ministry of Finance has repaid 400 million KGS in obligations on 7-year government treasury bonds placed through the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. The repayment took place on 13 August.

These are treasury bonds placed on 10 August 2018. At that time, the Ministry of Finance fully realised the declared volume of 400 million KGS. It should be noted that demand was significantly higher. During the auction, bids totalling 721 million KGS were received. However, the ministry decided not to increase the issue to meet investor demand.

The yield on government securities during the auction ranged from 12% to 13% with a coupon of 8%. As a result, the average yield was 12.7%.

According to the National Bank, as of 14 August, Kyrgyzstan's domestic debt placed in government treasury bonds through the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to 275 billion 903.4 million KGS. Of this amount, liabilities on 7-year government securities amounted to 51.9 billion KGS, compared to 52.3 billion KGS as of 12 August.
