    Waste recycling in Kyrgyzstan has grown by almost 37%

    The waste recycling and secondary raw materials sector is growing rapidly in Kyrgyzstan. According to the National Statistics Committee, volumes increased by 36.9% in January–July 2025.

    The total value of products manufactured in the water supply, waste treatment and management sector amounted to KGS 3.8 billion, with the physical volume index reaching 127.6%.

    In addition to processing, growth was also recorded in the following areas:

    • waste decontamination and treatment — +15.9%,
    • wastewater collection and treatment — +12.3%,
    • water supply — +32.4% (accounting for almost 60% of the industry).

    Despite its small share in industry (about 1%), waste processing is becoming one of the drivers of growth in environmentally significant sectors of the economy.
