10/14/2025, 09:14Kyrgyzstan continues to provide support to its compatriots abroad. The Ministry of Labour reported on the delivery of humanitarian aid to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the Lesser and Greater Pamir regions of Afghanistan.
The expedition, sent on behalf of the president and by order of the cabinet of ministers, delivered medical and veterinary supplies to residents of the Afghan province of Badakhshan, which are vital in high-altitude areas where access to medicine and infrastructure is extremely limited.
The expedition to deliver humanitarian aid was led by Deputy Minister of Labour Bakyt Darmankul uulu. During the trip, he met with the Deputy Governor of Badakhshan Province, where the parties discussed the living conditions of the ethnic Kyrgyz people, as well as the local authorities' plans to improve their socio-economic situation and infrastructure.
A medical team, including cardiologists, dentists and an obstetrician-gynaecologist, examined 765 people, including 187 women and 207 children. In addition to medical assistance, local residents were given lectures on the prevention of infectious diseases and trained in the proper use of veterinary drugs.
Veterinary service specialists also examined livestock and vaccinated animals. A total of 10 camels, 40 horses, 367 yaks and 840 sheep and goats were examined.
The ministry noted that such expeditions are conducted regularly and are aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties and supporting ethnic Kyrgyz living outside the country, especially in remote regions where Kyrgyzstan's assistance remains their ‘only window to the outside world.’
