Mothers with many children living in high-altitude areas will receive up to 2 million KGS

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for one-time payments of ‘Bala Bereke’ to mothers with many children living in high-altitude and hard-to-reach areas. And we are not talking about symbolic assistance, but about millions of KGS.

The relevant decision was signed by the head of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

Every woman who has given birth to a fourth or subsequent child since 1 January 2026 will be able to count on significant financial support from the state. The amount of the payment depends on the number of children the mother has given birth to:

  • 100,000 KGS for the fourth child;
  • 600,000 KGS for the fifth child;
  • 800,000 KGS for the sixth child;
  • 1 million KGS for the seventh child;
  • 1.2 million KGS for the eighth child;
  • 1.5 million KGS for the ninth child;
  • and a record 2 million KGS for the tenth and subsequent children.

In this way, the state intends to stimulate demographic growth in the country and support families who are raising children in conditions where life requires particular resilience.

Funding for Bala Bereke will be allocated from the republican budget. Payments will be made when the child reaches one year of age, and families will be informed of their right to assistance by an automated system through the state institution ‘Kyzmat’.

Reforms to support the birth rate in the country are taking place against the backdrop of the country entering an era of demographic ageing, according to the UN classification. Kyrgyzstan has officially moved into the category of ‘ageing’ countries. By the beginning of 2025, the proportion of citizens over 65 years of age reached 6% of the population, and by 2030, the proportion of elderly Kyrgyzstanis will reach 7%.
