The capacity of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station has been increased by 240 MW following modernisation

Following the modernisation of four hydro-units, the installed capacity of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station has risen from 1,200 to 1,440 MW. The capacity of each unit has been increased from 300 to 360 MW.

On 10 October, the Minister for Energy, Altynbek Rysbekov, visited the station and inspected the preparations of the equipment for the autumn–winter period of 2026–2027.

During his working visit to the Jalal-Abad Region, the Minister also familiarised himself with the work on commissioning the second hydroelectric unit at the Kambarata HPP-2 and the construction of preparatory facilities at the Kambarata HPP-1.

Following the visit, instructions were issued to the relevant managers.
