The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of police officers on corruption

Since the beginning of the year, police officers suspected of corruption and other serious crimes have been detained, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The ministry explained that this is not a sign of a worsening situation, but rather the result of a new policy.

“A systemic cleanup has begun — what used to be kept quiet is now being investigated and brought to a conclusion,” the ministry said. However, no specific figures or cases were provided.
