The number of tourist attractions in Issyk-Kul has tripled

According to the results of the 2025 season, Issyk-Kul has seen a threefold increase in the number of tourist services compared to 2019, according to the Ministry of Economy and the Committee on Tourism and Industry (MECCR), citing data from the 2GIS service.

The number of catering establishments increased from 360 to 963. Most cafes and restaurants operate in Karakol (170), Cholpon-Ata (157), Bosteri (142), and Balykchy (84). A similar increase was observed in the accommodation sector: the number of hotels and guest houses grew from 627 to 1,833. Cholpon-Ata and Bosteri are in the lead.

The financial infrastructure is also developing: the number of ATMs and bank branches has increased from 219 to 313. The MEECR notes that tourism is becoming one of the main drivers of small business and economic development in the Issyk-Kul region.
